As the busy holiday season approaches, I've been seeking out products to make MPM more eco-friendly. Here are some great changes we're excited to be implementing:
*All of our individual greeting cards are now packaged in certified compostable cello sleeves (manufactured from plant material)!
*We will be using eco-friendly shipping supplies. Have you heard of EcoEnclose? We are so excited to have found them! They sell 100% biodegradable bubble mailers, 100% recycled chipboard mailers, recycled boxes, and recycled packing material. They get bonus points for their lovely branding (the cute bird in images above).
As always we continue to use recycled paper, and we work with printers with environmentally friendly practices. One of our printers for short run jobs, CatPrint (www.catprint.com), is a great example of this. They are wind powered, offer recycled paper options, and package their orders with edible packing peanuts. How cool is that?!

Designing is my favorite part of what I do. Being a wholesaler, I have to produce new designs several times a year and often way in advance of Holidays (which can be tough to keep up with). I finished my 2012 Halloween and Christmas line in April, and my 2013 calendar in May. The calendars will be printed soon, and available online in the fall. Here is a sneak peek of my favorite month from the new calendar.

I'm excited to introduce you to "Candid Cards:" our new offbeat humor and eco-friendly greeting card line! We're launching the line at the NY International Gift Fair this weekend. Retailers: please visit our sales rep daisyd & friends at Booth #9359 in the handmade section. Candid Cards" includes 26 designs that are both playful and a bit snarky : ) All cards are offset printed in the USA with soy and vegetable based inks on heavy 100% PCW recycled paper. Download the full catalog sheet here.
As a greeting card/paper designer, one challenge my business faces is the increased use of email and Facebook in place of hand written correspondence. Linda, the fabulous designer of à la mode, just launched a wonderful program called Project Letter Writing. She has committed herself to sending out at least one hand written card/letter a month, and she is asking others to make that commitment as well. It's such a joy to receive something pretty in your mailbox from a friend or family member. Let's spread more joy! I'm in, are you? An added incentive: if you join this month, you'll receive a free card in the mail from Linda and be entered into a drawing for a card set by yours truly (mixed botanical set shown above). Yay! Thanks, Linda!
Wedding planning season is officially here. Did you know I offer wedding invitation design & print services? I was thrilled to see two of my invitations featured in Engaged Magazine! See numbers 8 & 11 above. Make sure you contact me about your invitations as early as possible before I am booked!
After a busy season of packing hundreds of orders and shipping them all over the world, it's really fun to see the final destination and personal spaces where my work ends up. Photographer Michelle DuPuis of Rust & Sunshine posted this fun way she displays my desk calendar. See the full post here. Love it. Thanks, Michelle!

The last of our holiday orders are out, and I'm looking forward to a nice quiet Christmas at home with my husband and son. Have a wonderful holiday everyone!
